American Candy - Part 1

My family have recently returned from America and kindly brought me back a LOT of American candy. I love watching American Candy videos so thought I would do the equivalent in a blog post. I have split this into 2 parts because I literally got so much.

The first thing I tried were these Mike & Ike Lem & Mel chewy lemon and watermelon flavoured candies. I love the box, the little melon and lemon characters look so happy. These are basically lemon and melon flavoured jelly beans. A great gift for a Norwich fan don't you think? I weren't overly keen on these, they tasted quite artificial, the lemon was better than the watermelon.

I then tried these air heads chewy sticks in Cherry & Pink lemonade. We have plenty of chewy sticks here in the UK but I haven't seen this brand before. I love how vibrant the colours of these were, they were pretty tasty too.

I then tried these Peanut Head Boston Baked Beans. I thought these were going to be chocolate covered peanuts but they're candy coated so not too disimilar to peanut M&M's but a bit more sickly. I wasn't a huge fan of the coating it was quite thick, but these were nice in small doses.

This Dove milk chocolate bar looks very similar to our UK galaxy bars. I'm not usually a fan of American chocolate, I don't like Hershey's but this wasn't too bad, it was quite creamy. Nothing beats Galaxy though!

I wasn't sure if I was going to like Reese's Pieces as I'm not a huge peanut butter fan but the taste isn't too overpowering which is good! I think we can get these in selected shops in the UK, they were pretty nice. Gluten free too if you're wondering!

These Ice Cubes sugar free gum pieces were awesome. They're bubblegum flavour with little flecks of mint running through them. They claim to have long lasting flavour and compared to the other gums I have tried in my American Candy selection, these did last the longest. I love the convenient packaging too, easy to keep in your handbag for emergencies.

I then tried another bubble gum called Bubble Yum in original flavour. This was great for blowing bubbles with, but lost its flavour pretty quickly. The bubblegum squares were quite big and hard to eat discreetly, I was not very dignified when munching on this.

I then received some tic tacs in the flavour 'Fruit Adventure'. I don't think we have this flavour in the UK but I could be mistaken. These were nice and fruity but I practically broke my teeth trying to bite them hah!

Last but not least (for part 1 anyway!) was this Juicy Fruit Starburst gum in cherry flavour. We do have Juicy Fruit here in the UK but I haven't seen these ones. This was lovely. It had a really strong cherry flavour at first, but because my car air freshener is cherry, it kind of reminded me of that and then it felt weird to be eating it.

What's your favourite candy?
Part 2 coming soon!
